FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How Tuesdays finds the cheapest pharmacy price for your prescription, plus pricing sources, accuracy, savings programs, and privacy.
How it works
What does Tuesdays do?+
We compare live cash prescription prices across major U.S. pharmacies — Walmart, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs, Amazon Pharmacy, GoodRx, SingleCare, and more — so you can see the lowest verified price for your medication in one place. No insurance required.
How do you get pharmacy prices?+
For each medication we run live source adapters (where pharmacies publish public pricing) plus an AI-powered price discovery layer that reads each pharmacy's own product page in real time. Every quote stores the source URL, fetched timestamp, and pack size so you can verify it yourself before checkout.
Is Tuesdays free?+
Yes. Search, compare, track prices, and get drop alerts are all free. We don't take referral kickbacks from pharmacies — our incentive is showing you the truly lowest price, not the one that pays us the most.
Do I need to create an account?+
No — you can search and compare prices for any drug without signing up. An account lets you save a watchlist, get email alerts when a tracked medication drops in price, and sync across devices.
Pricing & accuracy
Are the prices guaranteed?+
No price comparison tool can guarantee a pharmacy's final checkout price, because pharmacies change prices and apply local taxes. We show the most recently verified price and the timestamp so you can judge freshness. Always confirm the price at the pharmacy counter before paying.
What is the NADAC reference price?+
NADAC (National Average Drug Acquisition Cost) is a wholesale benchmark published by CMS — what pharmacies pay to acquire the drug, not what you'd pay as a patient. We show it in a collapsed reference section so you can see pharmacy markup, but you cannot buy at NADAC. It is never the headline price.
Why does the same drug have different prices at different pharmacies?+
Cash prescription prices in the U.S. are unregulated — each pharmacy sets its own markup, and discount programs (Walmart $4 list, Costco member pricing, GoodRx coupons) further widen the spread. Generic atorvastatin can range from $4 to $200 for the same prescription.
What does '(scaled)' mean next to a quantity?+
If a pharmacy only publishes pricing for a 90-day supply but you asked about a 30-day fill, we mathematically scale the price to the quantity you selected so the comparison is apples-to-apples. The fine print shows the listed pack size we scaled from.
Savings programs
Do you list manufacturer copay cards?+
For brand-name drugs we surface manufacturer savings programs (e.g., Eliquis 360 Support, Ozempic Savings Card) when available. These can drop the price for commercially insured patients to as low as $10/month. Look for the 'Manufacturer program' badge.
How does GoodRx fit in?+
GoodRx is one of several discount-coupon programs we compare alongside Walmart, Costco, Cost Plus, and SingleCare. We show the GoodRx price next to the others so you can see which is truly cheapest — sometimes it is, sometimes another pharmacy wins.
What about Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs?+
Cost Plus is a transparent-pricing online pharmacy that lists its acquisition cost plus a flat 15% markup. For many generics it's the cheapest option in the country. We integrate live Cost Plus pricing for every drug they carry.
Privacy & account
Do you sell my data?+
No. We don't sell personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or pharmacies. We use Plausible (privacy-first analytics) and do not run third-party ad pixels. See our privacy policy for full detail.
Is my prescription information HIPAA-protected?+
Tuesdays is not a HIPAA-covered entity because we don't bill insurance or provide medical care. We treat your data as if it were PHI anyway — encrypted at rest, never shared with third parties without explicit consent. See our HIPAA notice for our policy on health information handling.
How do price alerts work?+
Add a medication to your watchlist and we'll email you when the lowest verified price drops by more than 5% or when a new pharmacy beats your current best price. You can also subscribe by SMS.
Other questions
Can I upload a prescription photo?+
Yes. From the homepage, upload a photo of your prescription label or pill bottle and our OCR will identify the medication, strength, and quantity so you can jump straight to a price comparison.
Do you check drug interactions?+
Yes — visit /interactions to check FDA-labeled interactions between any two or more medications you take. Always confirm with your prescriber before changing therapy.
Is this medical advice?+
No. Tuesdays is a price-comparison and education tool, not a substitute for medical advice from a licensed clinician. Always consult your prescriber or pharmacist about which medication is right for you.
How do I contact you?+
Email support@jointuesdays.com or visit our contact page. We respond to most inquiries within one business day.
