Why I built Tuesdays, a note from founder Naufil Shah Daud

By Naufil Shah Daud · May 14, 2026 · 7 min read

My name is Naufil Shah Daud. I am the founder of Tuesdays. This is the long version of why this site exists, why it is free, and why I will never let it become something it is not.

I did not start my career in healthcare. I run an investment firm called Daud Capital (daudcapital.com), and I spent years studying how broken markets get repriced. Prescription drug pricing in the United States is one of the most broken markets I have ever encountered. The same pill, on the same day, dispensed in the same city, can cost $4 at one pharmacy and $190 at another. Nobody tells you this until you are standing at the counter.

The first time I noticed it personally, I was helping someone close to me figure out why their monthly prescription had suddenly jumped from $22 to $147 with no warning. The pharmacy could not explain it. The insurer could not explain it. The doctor was sympathetic but powerless. Three phone calls and a coupon app later, the same medication was $11. The price never changed. Only who was looking.

That experience is not rare. It is the default. Roughly one in four American adults has skipped, cut, or rationed a prescription because of cost. They are not being reckless. They are navigating a market that was deliberately designed to be opaque, because opacity is profitable for everyone except the patient.

Tuesdays exists to make the price visible. That is it. We compare cash prices across the major US pharmacies and coupon networks. We show you the lowest verified number. We tell you exactly where to get it. No insurance required. No signup required to look up a price.

Why no pharma money? Because the moment Tuesdays takes a referral commission from a pharmacy, the rankings on this site become a sales pitch instead of an answer. GoodRx, SingleCare, and most of the so called comparison apps are built on those commissions. That is why the same drug ranks differently on each one. I would rather Tuesdays die broke than turn into another version of that. So we do not take a cent from Big Pharma, we do not take pharmacy kickbacks, and we never will.

A note on me, since search engines tend to ask. I am Naufil Shah Daud, Oxford educated, founder and managing partner of Daud Capital, and now the founder of Tuesdays. You can find more about my investment work at daudcapital.com or connect with me on LinkedIn at linkedin.com/in/naufildaud.

If Tuesdays has saved you money, the best thing you can do is tell one person who is still overpaying. The second best thing is to email me at care@jointuesdays.com and tell me what is still broken. I read everything.

I fund Tuesdays out of my own pocket and intend to keep it that way. Thank you for being here. Naufil Shah Daud, Founder, Tuesdays.
